As part of Sefton SCP's 'Spotlight on Education' practice fortnight... 

This briefing focuses on the role of the Virtual School in Sefton. 

The role of the Virtual School is to work in partnership with educational settings and social workers to ensure that children who are (or have been) in care of the Local Authority, are supported to fulfill their potential at all stages of their education and to act as a champion to promote their progress and educational attainment comparable to their peers. 

This briefing will clarify that the Virtual School is not a physical school space, learning tool or digital learning environment and does not exist in real terms as a building.
